Sending messages

Sending Messages
  • Send messages with just a few clicks. High volumes? No problem. It's the piece of mind of relying on a robust, proven platform.
  • No limits and no costs based on the size or number of messages you send, or the number of contacts in your database.
  • Use A/B Testing to improve the effectiveness of your campaigns, automatically.

Duplicates Check

Know that the same message will never be sent to the same person twice. MailUp automatically checks for duplicate recipients both when importing contacts information and when sending a message.

Invalid Emails Check

Check for invalid emails due to syntax issues (e.g. the "@" is missing) or incorrect domains (e.g. "homail.com" instead of "hotmail.com").

Queue Management

Start, pause, stop mailings. Remove addresses already queued up. View in real-time messages that have not been sent yet. Queue multiple messages, and change the order in which messages are sent.

Mailing Preview

To avoid any mistakes, the list of recipients, the number of recipients, and the total expected delivery time is shown before the mailing is started.

Custom Sender Information

The name and email of the sender can be set for each list (e.g. "XYZ Corporation - Monthly Newsletter"), and you can also specify a separate REPLY-TO address to which replies are sent.

Different Sender Information

Specify a different "From" name and email for any message.

Activity Logs

Administrator activity and sending errors logs.

Automatic Retries

In case of issues contacting a recipient's mail server, the system tries again for five days before notifying the sender of the issue.

Targeted Campaigns

Send your messages to targeted recipients. For example, target men between 18 and 30 that live in California. You can use any piece of information in your contacts database to create sophisticated filters. Filters can be saved and used for different purposes (e.g. combined with other filters). You can also create "activity filters" (e.g. who did not click in the last 90 days). Some of the more advanced filtering features require the Marketing+ option.

Stop &: Go

If there is an issue with a message that is already being sent, stop the mailing, edit the message, and start again. All remaining recipients will receive the updated version (and no one will receive the message twice).

SMS Campaigns

Manage SMS campaigns just like you do with emails: create and save messages, personalize them using dynamic fields, choose different sending options, filter recipients, import/export contacts, view reports. Supports MMS, thumbnails, ringtones, 3G video. Learn more ›

Sending Logs

Detailed log of every message sent, available for 15 days.

User Permissions

Create administrators that have or do not have the ability to send a message. If different administrators have access only to specific lists, you can hide the sending status for messages that are in the queue and belong to other lists. Only the master administrator will see details on all queued messages and set the mailing priorities.

Edit Recipients "On The Fly"

Edit recipients information even for a message that is currently being sent.

DKIM Signature

Claim responsibility for a message by adding a domain name and an encrypted digital signature. DKIM technology (Domain Keys Identified Messaging), allows the sender to certify the message in a way that is more secure than SPF. It can increase deliverability as email providers can confirm the origin of the message and sender reputation.

Bandwidth Management

Messages are sent individually to each recipient, at a speed that is based on the bandwidth you subscribe to. The bandwidth is covered by a Service Level Agreement that guarantees that your messages will be sent within a time frame that is predefined and measurable.

Scheduled Mailings

Set the date and time at which your next newsletter will automatically be sent. Schedule multiple email and/or SMS campaigns to be sent at different times.

Anti-Spam Guarantee

Our servers and IP addresses are excluded from all blacklists. In case the system were to be blocked by mistake, and automated procedure leads to the use of a different mailing server. We use servers that are directly registered by RIPE to avoid the risk that issues at the ISP level might compromise the server reputation. Different classes of servers are used depending on the reliability and quality demonstrated by the sender. Upon request, MailUp provides dedicated servers, with dedicated IPs, dedicated domains, and personalized envelope-sender. MailUp manages bandwidth throttling so that the number of concurrent connections and of individual messages sent through each connection are appropriate for the destination SMTP. MailUp has agreements in place with the most relevant Internet Service Providers to avoid accidental blacklisting, manage feedback loops, and handle unsubscriptions triggered through email clients (List-Unsubscribe). MailUp works tirelessly to ensure the highest reputation for its mailing servers: and that's really what makes the difference when it comes to delivering your messages to your customers!

Survey Module

Ask customers to respond to a survey or participate to a market study with the optional Autoprofile module, which is part of the Marketing+ package.

Quick Tests

Easily test a message by sending it to a single address (or quickly resend a message to a customer that did not receive it and has a new email). If the address is not already in the database, it is added automatically.

Bounce Management

MailUp takes care of managing bounces for you (message delivery errors) with the ability to manually or automatically remove addresses from future mailings (see Managing Bounces).

Event-based Messages

Automatically send messages (email or SMS) when certain conditions apply. For example, assuming you have recorded that data, you could automatically send a discount to customers on their birthday, or a reminder before a certain expiration date. The criteria based on which messages are sent can be based both on user data and user activity (clicked, opened, did not click over a certain period of time, etc.).
Event-based messages are part of the optional Marketing+ package, which includes several advanced features.

Time Zone Management

When scheduling a mailing, you can choose the time zone to avoid any date or time issues.

Web Services and FTP

Send messages (individual messages or large volumes) using the MailUp Web Services, or batch FTP procedures. Check the status of a mailing through Web Services as well.
