Social responsibility and company values

At NWeb we believe that social responsibility and good business ethics are the foundations upon which we should run our company. As a result, we have adopted many "best practices" and committed to go above and beyond what the law requires in terms of industry regulations and environmental impact.

lifegate

Environmental impact

In 2007 we joined the Lifegate ZERO IMPACT project. This project was born with the objective of reducing and compensating CO2 emissions resulting from running our data center by protecting and growing 8.121 mq of forest in Costa Rica. Nazzareno Gorni, General Manager, explained: "Our service can be regarded as environmentally friendly for several reasons: sending emails means saving lots of paper, and our data center uses low-consumption servers (HP Blade). We use renewable energy (Lifegate Energy) in our offices, and we compensate the CO2 emissions that we produce - including those related to sales and post-sales operations - by actively contributing to the conservation and growth of forests in Latin America."

riciclo

Recycling

We embrace the idea of environmental protection in everything we do. Within our company, we promote a culture of recycling: all of our staff is asked to pay close attention to recycling, in an effort to reduce to a minimum any office waste - especially paper - and minimize our environmental impact.

salute

Safeguarding health and work safety

NWeb operates in full compliance with all work safety regulations, and is committed to creating an environment where work safety is guaranteed and the well-being of all of our staff is a priority. Among other measures that we have adopted is a 15-minute recommended break every 2 hours for anyone that is spending extended amounts of time at their computer.

accountability

Social accountability

We believe that human resources are absolutely key to the success of our company, and therefore invest in those resources as much as possible. This translates into not only following best practices, rules, and regulations, but also into hiring our staff under employment agreements without a set duration, rather than short-term, project based contracts as many other Italy-based companies do. We believe this is part of our social responsibility.

etica

Responsibility as an email marketing service provider

Email marketing, unfortunately, has gotten a bad reputation due to the overwhelming amount of SPAM that is sent everyday. We do our best to fight this trend. We have a very strict anti-spam policy, and make it very clear to our clients and resellers that they are absolutely prohibited from using MailUp to send unsolicited messages. To give more power to this policy, we have added to our Terms & Conditions of Use a clause that indicates that a 1,000 EUR fine will be applied to each instance of SPAM, in addition to temporary suspension or permanent termination of the service.

Among our customers, we constantly promote a culture of responsible use of the direct marketing tools we have created, tirelessly stressing the counterproductive and nonsensical nature of sending unsolicited messages to potential and existing clients. Email marketing only makes sense - and will only produce a long term positive return on the investment - when the messages sent are consistent with and respectful of the recipients' preferences.
