List cleaning service
Lists that are "clean" have higher deliverability. This service is a one-time cleaning of your recipients list, performed by the experts at MailUp. The clean-up service can be requested after at least 5 messages have been sent, so that the system has enough history of bounced messages. The parameters to follow in the clean-up process will be discussed with you, and you will be able to see and approve which recipients would be removed.
Subscribe and unsubscribe
Subscribing to and unsubscribing from a list is handled automatically, with checks in place to that an unsubscribing user will not be added again (e.g. through an import). Let users subscribe to one or more lists using the many pre-built forms available in your MailUp console, customizable and embeddable in any Web page. Available is also the option of allowing people to subscribe using their social login (e.g. Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.). Consistently with consumer privacy regulations, you can export a list of unsubscribed contacts, with details on their opt-out activity (date, IP address, how they unsubscribed).
Unsubscribe notification
Be notified whenever a user opts to unsubscribe by clicking on the unsubscribe link.
Unsubscribe options
Someone may want to change email or reduce the number of emails received. With MailUp you can present subscribers with a series of options, in addition to the option to simply unsubscribe. And you can handle unsubscribing differently for different lists.
Unlimited groups
Create unlimited groups within a list to segment your customers and send them different messages. Each recipient can belong to multiple groups (but they will always, only receive one message). You can also create groups that contain a random list of recipients, a feature that is useful for A/B Testing.
Database integration
Integrate MailUp with an external contacts database to send targeted messages to groups of recipients already defined in that system. Different types of integrations available (API, FTP, manual import, ...).
Import/Export
Import and export your contacts, easily mapping the fields you wish to import/export, and choosing which lists/groups to import into/from. Impart format: CSV, MS Excel, TXT, and XML. MailUp also supports the import of files that use fixed-length fields (no separator) Save mappings for future imports, and see a detailed report of what was imported. If you need to import from a legacy system such as AS/400 or MS Outlook, we can do a one-time import for you at no charge, and our asynchronous import process is engineered to handle large contacts databases (millions of emails).
Compliant with privacy regulations
MailUp is fully compliant with the customer privacy regulations such as the CAN-SPAM Act in the USA.
Advanced import features
A number of checks are performed when contact information is imported into MailUp. For example, when an address has already unsubscribed or is pending subscription confirmation, it is not imported again. The same is true if an address already exists. Advanced import settings allow you to import addresses as "unsubscribed", change to "subscribed" the status of pending or unsubscribed contacts (if applicable), and automatically remove duplicates.
Custom fields
All fields in the contacts database are editable. You can use them for whatever purpose you wish to, and you can include them in your messages using dynamic tags (dynamic tags require the Message+ package).
Unsubscribe
Users are automatically unsubscribed, depending on how you configure the list. Single opt-out means that a user is unsubscribed immediately when clicking on the unsubscribe link. Double opt-out means that the user is asked to take one more step to unsubscribe: this may make sense, for example, if there are multiple lists and the user must indicate which lists they wish to unsubscribe from. You can also configure the system so that customers are brought to a custom page where you may provide more information on unsubscribing options.
API integration
MailUp allows you to invoke third-party APIs to execute tasks when certain events occur. For example, you can have the system invoke an API to unsubscribe users from other databases when they are unsubscribed in the MailUp database. For more information, please see the MailUp APIs section.
Copy list settings
When you create a new list (MailUp supports unlimited lists), you can use the settings configured for a list that already exists.
Advanced Grouping
You can create groups based on multiple conditions (multiple fields) to send more targeted messages.
Unlimited, independent lists
With MailUp you can create and manage unlimited lists, fully independent (subscribers, messages, statistics, settings). It's like having multiple MailUp accounts all in one. Web agencies can handle multiple clients or brands with just one MailUp console (more on reselling MailUp).
Custom fields
Define the fields you will use in your contact database, naming them as you wish. There are 11 fields by default, but you can grow them to a total of 41 by adding the optional Marketing+ package.
Consumer privacy laws
MailUp's subscription confirmation system (double opt-in or confirmed opt-in) is fully compliant with consumer privacy regulations such as the CAN-SPAM Act. Confirmation screens and messages can be completely customized.
Bounce management
Easily manage the removal of addresses that can be reached, and therefore result in a bounce. More about bounce management with MailUp.
Email address check
Before a message is sent, MailUp automatically checks email addresses to ensure correct formatting. It also verifies the existence of the domain and locates mispellings (e.g. homail.com instead of hotmail). Those found to be incorrect are displayed so that they can be reviewed and removed or corrected.
Quick search
You can search for a contact in a variety of ways, including an open quick search field. MailUp will search all contacts data to return relevant results. Of course, you can also narrow down your search by searching against specific fields and within specific groups. You can also search the contacts database regardless of the contact's status (subscribed, pending confirmation, unsubscribed).
Multiple channels, one database
A single contact database is used across different channels (email, sms...), so you can use information collected through campaigns carried out in one channel (e.g. email) to execute a new, target campaign in another channel (e.g. sms/text messaging).
Autoprofile
Ask your contacts to update their information. By default MailUp includes 3 forms: update your profile; add your mobile phone; edit your email address. You can easily add a link to your message: clicking on the link users will be presented with the form you selected.
To create unlimited new forms (e.g. for a survey) and control up to 40 different custom fields, order the additional Marketing+ package.
Permission Marketing
With MailUp you can send a message to ask recipients whether they want to be added to your database. Only those that confirm will become active subscribers. This can be done automatically when you import new contacts, for example.
IP address log
When users sign up for a newsletter and when they confirm their registration (if applicable), their IP address is recorded, together with date and time.
Automatic FTP export
You can automatically export a list of recipients that unsubscribed, via password-protected FTP.
Quick Copy & Paste
To quickly add email addresses or mobile phones to your contacts database, you can copy and paste the information into a special field, and MailUp will automatically extract them from the data you provide.
