Sales Engineer / PHP Developer (RIF. USDEV01)

Show details ›

We are looking for a PHP developer that likes putting on a "sales hat" too. In this position you will develop integrations between MailUp and other applications, and create code samples for the MailUp API. As a sales engineer, you will also be involved in the sales process by assisting customers in assessing how to best take advantage of MailUp and its API.

What you will do:
  • Develop extensions and plug-ins for all sorts of applications, leveraging the MailUp API: you will be in charge of designing (with input from the marketing team), code, and test each new extension/plugin.
  • Participate in the strategic process of deciding which integrations to work on
  • Document such integrations
  • Create code samples for the MailUp API
  • Help improve the API and API documentation
  • Provide support to customers that wish to use the MailUp API, especially during the sales process

The profile we are looking for:
  • You love working with APIs and integrating different applications
  • You've worked with RESTful APIs (used by many apps that we want to integrate with)
  • You've worked with SOAP Web Services (that's what the MailUp API uses)
  • Many of the applications we want to integrate MailUp with are written in PHP (especially in e-commerce), thus the need for PHP skills
  • Other integrations will require different programming skills: if you know other programming languages, great. Otherwise, you will be the person in charge of selecting and managing other programmers that will help on those projects.
  • You're a programmer that designs good looking user interfaces
  • You're a programmer that likes doing sales and marketing stuff too
  • You like working with customers (this is a partially customer-facing job)

Other notes:
  • MailUp in the US operates like a start-up: you like wearing all sorts of hats and helping around with various tasks
  • A working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and the differences between designing an HTML Web page vs. HTML email is a plus
  • A knowledge of email marketing techniques and best practices is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Italian is also a plus (most of the MailUp development team is located in Italy).
  • If you are not eligible to work in the US, you can still apply and let us know. In that scenario, we will have to help you get a VISA: it's not easy, it takes time, and you must have an engineering/computer science Bachelor's Degree (otherwise you are not eligible for an H1B Visa for this position).
